Philly?
Hmmm....Not TOO far from D.C. I suppose.
What would encourage me would be if they would perform some material from the new disk.
Then again maybe they will add an area club which of course would make it a no brainer.
I am so glad boys have done well and gotten such good press. I gather this was not true however in Chicago....anyone know what happened there or am I mistaken?

I'll be at The Earl for the Atlanta show! How about a Knoxville, Asheville or Nashville show the next day?

WTF? I read this on the 'Net ... and not one word from any Blue Cheer 'official' site ... SO is this real or what? is the cheer part of the CMJ thing? If so, that's fucking great
The Black Keys, Deerhoof, Joseph Arthur, Blue Cheer, Portastatic, Suzanne Vega, Keren Ann, Hot Chip, the Slits and Madlib are among the first batch of artists confirmed for the annual CMJ Music Marathon, to be held Oct. 31-Nov. 4 at venues throughout New York.
The festival has also nabbed a host of buzzed-about acts, including Cold War Kids, Silversun Pickups, the Knife, Professor Murder, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin and the Boy Least Likely To.
Rounding out the initial lineup are Been Lee, Erase Errata, Holly Golightly, White Whale, Dr. Dog, Cloud Clut, Strike Anywhere, Mute Math, hellogoodbye, Extra Golden and These Arms Are Snakes.
Also, the only way I can access the Blue Cheer site is to go to the Myspace Cheer site and click on the link for there. ANyone else ... ?

Thank you so much Isis.
I never fail to get a chill when here a young person reports how great BC played. Great picturs, practicularly of Mr. Duck.
Did you notice that they guy that was the driving force behind the 13th Floor elevators, Roky Erickson, played also? I didn't even think he get to a stage without help (drug/sanity issues) but guess he is back from the brink.
I have seen a poster of the the Floors playing the Fillmore (67 I think) so wonder if Roky and BC have crossed paths before.
If they did meet in Chicago it would represent two, WAY before their time, acts either meeting fore the first time or saying hello after almost 40 years. The mind boggles!
Thanks again.
Now about the new CD.........

I just spoke to Duck and he said that at this moment the new CD is on hold because of the scheduling and touring. They want to release the CD with more of an impact on the general public. There is also a business side to this that's more complex in which he didn't have the time to get into it. Doesn't it always seem to be the way....always waiting. Pretty much sucks.

"I gather this was not true however in Chicago....anyone know what happened there or am I mistaken?"
Well, I was there and the crowd was fine, digging the music. I was talking to another fan from the '60's so I don't know what the take was with the younger fans. There were a lot of enthusiastic fans that went to see the band after the set at the autograph tent. I believe, Duck signed some titties...
Dickie got his picture in the Sun Times (I think) and the band was mentioned in the Tribune and the Sun Times. The critics were obsessing about Dickie's voice..saying that it was shot.
Like , I think they were just missing the point. We have only two critics that get ink time, and I would not take anything that they say to the bank.......
This band was never the critics favorite, and that still holds true in Chicago....no big deal, it's not like we are LA or New York...
Daley has killed the music scene here for years. Only the last couple of years, have I noticed bands coming through.

I am really looking forward to seeing BC again they rocked over the summer Philly, Hoboken ,CBGB's ,North Six and Montreal all rocked,......I really do hope that they do more songs from the Outside Inside lp songs like,'Come and Get It",'GypsyBall" & "Sun Cycle"...even "Feathers from your Tree".... I really would like to hear those songs performed live....I believe most of us on this board would agree I would even love to hear them do "Pilot"

Yeah, OutsideInside is a cool album. It would be especially cool if they played Just A Little Bit, The Hunter, and Satisfaction. If they did Babylon, that would really totally blow my mind, though they did play it at Chetfest.....

When I saw them this summer they played: Babylon, The Hunter, and Little Bit. Babylon seems to be the song they like to open with.
