;D I'm NO forum fashion freak, but every "well-respected" music board has one of these. I'll give it a try, if no-one responds, it's no worries on my part I'm listening to....

Kyuss - pre- Queens of the Stone Age - brilliant stoner rock. Sounds even better now than it did back then.

Captain Beyond's first album right now.
As for Kyuss, I'm still hoping for a live DVD. There's lots of high quality footage/audio out there so it's possible.

Oh..yeah ...on topic....Tommy Bolin...Whips and Roses....what I am listening to right now.. As a big Tommy Bolin fan myself, what does this CD consist of? I have a number of the posthumous releases sanctioned by his family, and have enjoyed each and every one. But, I have seen this one in the stores but haven't heard much about it, and besides, I'm skeptical at this point, because just how much did Bolin record that was really worthy of release?

well poopypants, what I got is volume 1. They recently released Volume 2. It is essentially session outtakes of 5 songs from the album Teaser plus five other tracks. Sound quality is awesome except that the live tracks (2) are not as well polished as the rest of the album. The outtakes have a totally different feel than Teaser as it was released. A couple of long instrumentals are jazz fusion. Kinda interesting is Tommy was the influence on Jeff Beck at the time of the Blow by Blow album. Fandango and Flying Fingers are excellent. Haven't got into the closing two tracks "Just Don't Fall Down" and "Blowin Your Cookies". I don't have his second album Private Eyes and was hoping for a track or two from that. Keep putting this album on instead of Teaser. The guitar work is great. And more in your face than the released album. When I first heard it, I thought it was way better than what was released on Teaser. However, this one only contains half of the songs from Teaser. It does not contain Lotus. Anyway, any Tommy Bolin fan should pick this up.

It rocks. What else would you expect from a Blue Cheer record? You should get a copy.
