well, i don't know if anyone noticed..but..i've been gone for a while.....didn't i disappear this time last year too..kinda..somewhat...anyway
if anyone remembers last year (early last year), probably about the time i released my BC #4 bootleg that iw as around a while and disappeared. well, my grandfather was sick with liver problems and i had a hectic couple of months trying to do long lists of shit for people..and he passed away on May 29 2005.
well, i've been gone a couple of months. we found out my grandfather was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, so, i wound up going down to florida for a couple of months to help out (i guess cuz no one cares if i work, but i missed my job)
well, anyway, we came back north back in May when he started getting really bad and beginning of the month he was hospitalized...and i was still just busy and hectic and quite frankly, lot of shit just slipped my mind....hell, i don't think i even used my computer for 3 months...relying only on my sidekick (the thing i had at Krugs was my PSP...i got a sidekick about a week after that) as a means of communications cuz i was always either at the hostpial, or trying to work..or driving somewhere..
well, sadly, my grandfather passed away early this morning...and all of a sudden..all this extra responsibility i had to take on..is gone. and it partially feels like a weight gone...but then it's also this thing of...i have no clue what i'm gonna do now....anyone ever read craigslist? loads of freaks...
anyway, emotionally, i'm fine. i can handle things like this with no problem. i have my ways of coping (been sober since April..although pot really isn't a huge problem drug) and have been listening to a lot of music the last 12 hours...
so..i've noticed a few things....my playback EQ..keeps getting more and more flat with the exception of the lowest three bands (32hz, 63hz and 125hz) which tend to either be maxed out or almost dead flat....and while my headphones still work and sound great, the leatherette earpads are pretty much just about shot (hey, i've had 'em for 3 years)...90% of the music released in the last 3 years sucks...and I want to rise to the levels of MoFi/MFSL..and TPOUSA is probably the best band i've heard come out in the last 10 years..
ok, so, the last probably won't even happen..but i've accompilshed a few things..and even tho the crappy punk band i was handling decided to disband, i had fun.
i just need some new projects.
anyway, that wasted a few minutes. just thought i'd check in with people. later

No doubt, by writing TPOUSA we are supposed to ask what it stands for. Being that this a Blue Cheer board, perhaps you would be better off going to Arlington. There should be enough Presidents there to last you for your lifetime. TSOL.

first of all...those who know, know...those who don't, don't. it's like whenever any of us see BC, we automatically think Blue Cheer.
just because this is a Blue Cheer form doesn't mean i can't mention another band...but, in long run..it doesn't matter, because i am a registered user, and you are a guest...and i can't actually listen to the opinion of someone who can't even do a simple thing like register for a web forum.

well Dewdude it's great to hear you're back in circulation...sorry about the loss of a family member. I'm just sittin' here in L.A. with my ticket getting ready for the big day...I have been reading the posts from those who have seen the band on this tour, and no-one has mentioned any new songs... and I haven't seen a new cd for sale yet either...anyone know the skinny on that? are they selling them at their merch table??

buzz...buddy! thanks.
i haven't seen them on the tour...apparently BC was in DC last week...i could of gone..if i had known...but i was out of the loop and for some reason i didn't get an invite to that event from myspace..but i get one for Brooklyn....oh well
dude, you either gotta come out to DC or i've gotta figure out when i can get time off (and a really good reason) to fly out there so we can hang out.
but, glad to see you're still around this thing.

The new CD is not being sold at the Concession stands and none of the material is being features in the live set this tour (at least not yet). Being that this is the frist huge USA tour in years, the boys are concentrating on re-establishing themselves on their home turf and hopefully release & tour the new album toward the end of the year. Nothing in stone yet, but I do advise that y'all try to catch as many shows on this as you can as the band just sounds absolutely incredible and seem to be improving each night (I caught 3 shows). I just recovered from the Brooklyn gig last night and that was THE BEST concert I have ever seen EVER! The band was so tight and loud and intense and the jamming was unbelieveable. Best Dr. Please I ever heard. I knew I was in for a treat when Second Time Around was only the second tune in the set. (sorry DewDude, you should've went).
And seriously...what does TPOUSA mean?

should've went? to Brooklyn? i'm in DC man...that's a 5 hour drive.....i didn't even know about the DC gig till a day too late...i don't know if e-vites from BC's myspace went out for that or not...if they did..someone forgot me..i would of tried to have made it.
but..if you (and anyone else) keeps wondering about TPOUSA... The Presidents Of The Untied States Of America...you know..the band everyone thought had 3 good songs then disappeared....they've actually released albums, broken up, got back together, realeased more albums...i'm finding myself really not liking the crap that's being released...and they're one of the few bands to come out in the last 10 years that i actually like (with White Stripes just behind them)

That is, until Quiet Riot releases their new album. Then, my lil' Mullet-haired heshers, then will the word ROCK take on a whooole other meaning.
Q: When Quiet Riot starts a tour and pulls up to pick Kevin DuBrow up at his mom's house, is it hard not to laugh?
A:No, Kevin doesn't live with his mom, his mom owns the house and Kevin lives in it. Big difference.
By the way, it's a really nice house.

.....and that has what realvance to any part of this conversation.
i said bands to come out in the last 10 years...Quiet Riot's been around a bit longer....
rock can't really be redefined...Blue Cheer broke the meaning..lots of other bands have changed the meaning...it's all sub-genre's now....rock's like the world man, it's diverse...

"The most pathtic show I've ever seen was Quiet Riot in San "Rockin" Ramon, a vile little suburb outside San Francisco. I went as a total goof, but apparently I was the only one who did, as the rest of the crowd dug out their sleeveless denim vests with band logo patches, their studded wristbands and their hightop sneakers with the tongues sticking out. They had posters all over the joint (an Italian restaurant with a bar/stage area roughly the size of a large living room) announcing Quiet Riot's "comeback" album. At the bottom of the poster it read "This time, they're serious". The band came out rocking like it was 1983, pausing briefly to remind everyone that Randy Rhoads had been in the band, thus making them credible. All the butt-rock anthems were there, and I nearly bit my lower lip in half trying not to laugh as the group swaggered through their set. At one point Kevin DuBrow related a story where he was out drinking heavily in L.A. and was pulled over with a glass in one hand and a blonde in the other. DuBrow said "You know, the cop said "I pulled you over for driving erratically", but I thought he said "erotically"" and grabbed his leather clad crotch at the word "erotically" as the guitarist let loose with a finger tapping guitar injection meant to emphasize the comedy in the statement, much like a rim shot. However, the only comedy I saw was the fact that the man was admitting to driving drunk....."

Can we please just focus on discussing how kickass the Northsix (Brooklyn) gig was? It really was the most amazing show I ever saw.
At Maxwell's in Hoboken, I was fortunate enough to watch the band's soundcheck. It was the best soundcheck EVER!.
I am very glad that I bothered to travel all the miles that I did to see this band play. They never fail to please.

Dewdude, That explains why I didn't see ya at the D.C. show. You have never personally met me, but because you posted pics from the Maryland show, I know what you look like and I looked around for ya. I had the opportunity to meet Yage and it turned out to be very pleasant conversation with him. Nonetheless, sorry to hear about your loss. Now, I must say, if the band is gettin' tighter (Deep Purple reference there!) only a few days into this tour, I only wonder how they'll sound a month from now! This only further wets my appetite for the possible fall tour. The D.C. show was fine, albeit a bit rough, as it was, after all, the opening night of the tour. But, at the same time, I don't want a perfectly rehearsed show from these guys. It's Rock And Roll man, and it ain't supposed to be perfect, and these guys thankfully are the real deal. Hope to see 'em again!

I saw the three NYC area shows, and North Six was definitely the best. It was such a cool feeling, even more cool that the show was packed. It was a lot of concert to pack into one week but I had to go three times to make up for not having seen them since like 1991 or whenever that last tour was, which didn't even count since they only played three songs! Knowing how great it was, I would have driven five hours for this...

Dew,
So sorry about your loss.
I posted trying to reach you and had a hunch that something was up.
Poopy and I did have a nice chat (sorry it wan't longer) and we both spoke of you.
EVERYBODY:
I have secretly dreaded this tour. I know, I know, it sounds weird but I was afraid that things would, somehow, not go well.
Well as it turns out my fears were totaly unjustifed. They sounded all powerful in DC and it seems they rest of the gigs are going great.
Months ago I shared a fantasy of mine with Ivy. No that kind but perhaps even more bizarre:
A ROLLING STONE Magazine that carries an article about the boys and reviews the Cd. Here is my humble suggestion for the cover text:
Blues: AS IN BLUE CHEER
THE RETURN OF AMERICAS GREAT LOST POWER TRIO
And boy do we want to apologize for helping you loose them!!!!!!!!
