I should have said, have been on 2 studio albums. I think Gary Yoder may have played on 2 tracks of Blue Cheer's 4th album. But I'm not sure on that one.

It's not known for sure if Gary played on those 2 tracks or not. BUT he did write them and he did sing lead vocals on the single version of Fool. Now if only we knew how many tracks on O!PH Dickie played on (besides the 2 he sang). Eric, you produced that record and seem to have a good memory; can you enlighten us?

I have to get my copy yet, but what I've heard of it, it sounds GREAT.....I expect nothing less from such a GOOD VIBE band like BC........only GREATNESS!!! In the meantime, I have enjoyed reading the posts here...very interesting stuff by TRUE fans and REAL music experts.

Thanks Eric,
Jim Keylor is also listed on the album. Did he supply any basslines?

Jim Keylor did embellish some songs with bass parts. Jim Keylor was an integral part of the scene at that time because he knew most of the musicians and was in the process of building his Army Street Studios . Jim Keylor had direct influence over the beginning Punk scene in San Fancisco with the recording of "The Dead Kennedy's", The Off's , Sister Boom Boom and others.
As you know Keylor played with "The Oxford Circle" , Yoder and Whaley alumini and a huge part of the Davis Music scene ----He went to Davis High School with them fellers, and was known as "Dyno" for his abilities on the defensive side of the football.
Keylor had a steadying influence on people and thus helped with OPH and maintaining Dickie in troubling times.
Jim is a taxi driver and handyman and recently married his longtime sweetheart Ellen, all in San Francisco

Eric - Thanks so much for the clarification of Jim Keylor's role on "Oh! Pleasant Hope" - that's something I've been curious about for many years. I had the pleasure of talking to Jim on the phone once or twice in the late 70's and he very graciously gave me a copy of the Oxford Circle single (albeit a fairly beat up one) At the time, he seemed quite amused that anyone was even interested in it!

The new Cd is incredible, excellent mix, production and great playing, I love they way Dickie's bass sounds!...I can only echo the great reviews by both Feedback Lourde and Poopypants,... on a scale from 1-10 this Cd is a 10 in my opinion,.....I cannot say which song is my favorite but I really like "Maladjusted Child" a lot I will still need to give it a few more listens but from what I've heard I love every song,...I love their version of "Born Under a Bad Sign"& I think Duck sings really well on it, - really great stuff BC Rocks! Stay loud be proud!
