I'll be going to the BC show in Virginia Beach, VA on 11/3. I've asked before about video with decent audio for our internet broadcast, but none really exists. If I could get "official" backing, I can bring my video crew to the show, hook into the board and get a "real" video, maybe even a two camera shoot with excellent audio. I would of course give it to the boys also.
Could someone "official" ponder this?
Just a thought.
Thanks,
Doug Dye

Let's get this straight...YOU want SOMEONE ELSE, possibly someone from this board, to back YOU so YOU can get a film crew to film a gig for broadcast on YOUR site? Sure it will help Blue Cheer but won't it also plug YOU & YOUR band? That may be a nice fringe benefit if you actually went on a limb but in this case you are asking someone else to flip the bill. How altruistic (um, egotistic) of you...AND there does hapen to exist decent video out there

First off, my band has nothing to do with it, and is not involved in this. Second, I'd offer the footage to BC, to use as they wish. Third, I don't need to "get" a film crew, the guys that do the show would do it. Fourth, I don't need any FINANCIAL backing at all, I was asking for PERMISSION FROM THE BAND. Like, you know, so the club would know that the film crew is legitimate? Fifth, WTF is your problem? I was looking to get hold of Ivy or someone else "official". There sure is a lot of hostility around here... I know, Yage70. Much like DewDude, DDye comes on here all self-indulgent and then has a fit when he is called on it. What is the deal with the initials "DD?"

I know, Yage70. Much like DewDude, DDye comes on here all self-indulgent and then has a fit when he is called on it. What is the deal with the initials "DD?" OK, I think I need to start over here... My mistake, looking back at my first post, was apparently using the term "'official' backing", instead of "official permission". I can see how that might have looked like I was interested in someone else PAYING for this stuff. I am not. I apologize if I gave anyone the wrong impression by using that phrase, it certainly was not my intention. We'd been doing this live with one camera for over a year, and recently decided to retool the production and do a shorter, taped show with two cameras and much better production. I asked before about BC footage to use for a feature on them, but I have never found anything with what I considered to be acceptible audio. Everyone with videos on YouTube seems to have just used the auto-level mic in the video camera. This would be totally unacceptible if BC ever decided to sell or distribute it on DVD, for example. When I found out that BC was opening their tour an hour away, and our guys have been running around the area for the past month filming live acts in the area, it seemed like a perfect solution; show up at the gig with a two camera crew, get some good footage, edit it down, and give it to BC. Anyway, that is all there is to it. Again, I apologize for my misleading use of the term "backing", I hope that is what caused all of this drama. Doug

Thanks for clarifying things, Doug. Sorry if I spilled your beer there. I didn't get your first post and being that I protect my band, I acted accordingly. See you at the show.
Cheers!

Good point, Isis, but even a BC show on a sloppy off night still kicks ass! It is cool seeing a bunch of shows in a row early into the tour and watching them get tighter and more & more powerful.

OK. I was thinking that it would be a pretty good show to guarantee that Dickie wouldn't be hoarse... Doug Hi Doug, if you want to tape the show you can. Duck will give the ok to the club. Remember that it will be their first show on this tour .
