Festooned, you may be right that Holden doesn't condone drug use, but don't make it look like he's some sort of angel and never experimented or tried anything. I'm sure he did his fair share of drugs in his heyday. The acid practically wrote fruit and icebergs. "It's so nice to feel the colors" Right, sure, go ahead, blame pure, unbridled creativity on drugs Why can`t you lot understand that Randy Holden is a creative genius, and unlike many of his contemporaries, doesn`t need chemical enlightenment to fuel his creative fire. His inspiration comes from someplace higher than what mere drugs can offer; an almost heavenly place if you will (hence, the Guitar God title that had been bestowed upon him by the powers that be.) One day you will understand, but I dare say that Randy will be gone before the world catches a glimpse of his true genius. Only then will you say "aaahhh, Festooned was right"

Well, I have to admit Population II is an album well ahead of its time in which styles of bands to have come afterwards in the early seventies have adapted to whether consciously or unconsciously,…Pop II could have in all honesty have been the third BC album unfortunately many circumstances have prevented that from happening,…..I do wish Randy will put out a new Cd I would love to hear it and many on here (admit it or not) would love to as well…as long as it is not revised material that is not redlined!

But it has to be "redlined!" That's what will make it all the better. The louder something is, the better it is, I thought was the concences here. And if one wants to try & compete with Blue Cheer, you better redline every track on your master tape if you have even a hope of being able to open for them.

Hey, for all intents and purposes, Pop. II WAS the thrird Blue Cheer album. Compare that album to what Blue Cheer did after Randy left and the results speak for themselves. As far as redlining an album; if that`s what the artists desires and you, the listener, doesn`t understand his art, then that`s your problem. Randy is a true artist in that, he presents his vision based on what HE likes, not what his audience expects. Get used to it.

Isn't it a strange coincidence that a thread is started here about a "dead" musician that has nothing to do with blue cheer and the topic then switched to Randy Holden? Can we please not rehash this subject?

Hendrix was referred to as immortal and "god-like" I believe I heard from someone in the distant past that he came from an asteroid belt near Mars,.....
well, - ya have to admit as far as Randy goes,.....he is jamming inside a church so that speaks volumes in itself,eh?

Caught cha in yer own trap douchehead!! Didn't you arrogantly post earlier that Randy Holden does not "jam" as that implies a "lack of artistic virtue" or something to that effect? ???If you're gonna plug a non-BC artist and be a dumbass, at least be consistent ;D

Hey, for all intents and purposes, Pop. II WAS the thrird Blue Cheer album. Get used to it. The guy who caps on others by equating good spelling with intelligence and superiority ... ;D ;D I reckon Pop II was a thud album ... but not a Blue Cheer album ... "GET USED TO IT"

"compare that to what BC did after RH " - yes we see what we choose to see...personally i don't care for what they did WITH RH, just my opinion, but what they did before him was far better!
