So the L.A. show was cool...opening bands were pretty bad but the boys were their usual steamroller. I loved the 3 songs off the new cd (4 if you count "Just a Little Bit") Paul broke a drum head so things slowed a bit, but we were treated to the "story of Duck McDonald" and his arrival as BC lead guitarist..Dickie is quite humorous as an MC. After the last song the guys went right to the edge of the stage and greeted the crowd...nice touch and i got to shake Ducks hand and thank him for being the "new guy" (24yrs) I wish more people were there but the band does not disappoint no matter what great night! thanks agian guys!

Yeah, it was a great show. Dickie's bass sound was gloriously deafening. I wish Duck would have been louder, but a minor complaint. The band was awesome. I snagged a shirt, Dickie's solo CD, and the setlist.
Agreed on the opening bands. The first one (forget their name) were typically terrible weekend warrior metal heads. A bad Spinal Tap joke.
The next band SEA OF AIR was definitely better (at least they could actually play their instruments) but were little more than a revivalist 70's blues rock band. Generic, but competent.
But when BLUE CHEER took the stage, all was well in the world. Great setlist, and really glad to hear Maladjusted Child live.
I have the setlist at home, but from memory it went something like:
BABYLON SECOND TIME AROUND MALADJUSTED CHILD ROLLING DEM BONES OUT OF FOCUS PARCHMENT FARM I'M GONNA GET TO YOU JUST A LITTLE BIT SUMMERTIME BLUES DOCTOR PLEASE

Hey Buzz, did Duck go through his three Marshall cabs with two heads or did he add any more cabs on this tour? Also, was Dickie using his Ampeg head with his rig?

Dickies rig had 2 heads (one was definetly the Ampeg SVT)and 3 cabs I noticed a Traynor head stacked up there but not turned on.
Duck was using the same amp/speaker rig as last time 3-4x12 cabs and 2 Marshall heads he had a tuner, a chorus pedal, a delay pedal, a Rat distortion pedal and a wa-wa on the floor. and what looked like the same pair of pants from last year... lets all buy some exrta merch so Duck can buy some new clothes....:-)

Love reading the reviews - Paul still kicking ass??!! 'Duck' and Dickie are always on fire.
Great to hear BC is still giving killer shows out on the coast - still vibrating from the Philly / Khyber a few months ago.
Also - that video that Dye posted from the first gig of this tour is awesome - fucking fantastic!
Thanks so much to the support of this BC community - keeping it real.
