Ok I am not sure who wants to know but here  it is -----
Gut and Owsley were working one fine day on one of Owsleys projects .
Owsley turns to Gut and says I need a name for this (project was Blue in Color )
Gut says to Owsley I need a name for my rock and Roll Band --
Owsley says How about   "Blue Cheer"
that my friends is the true and honest story of how the name came about all at once and
worked for two things .

Thanks for that last post Eric! Kinda reminds me of the board we had in the Days of Yore. In continuation (hopefully), Dickie said once that the band even had a sort of duty the give a seal of approval every time Owsley had a new batch ready to distribute. They'd get to sample it first and then say...."Yeah man! This IS BLUE CHEER!!!!" Is it true that all the banks in San Francisco would run out of $100 bills every time a new batch hit the streets?
