To start with, I am NOT spamming! I've been a member of the BC community for awhile now, although I don't post here much. My band, the XSTATIX, does a weekly webcast featuring ourselves, guest artists and assorted videos. After seeing BC at the Charlottesville, VA show in November (my damn video camera screwed up!) I've been thinking about doing a feature on BC for the webcast. I spoke to Ivy on the phone a few years ago, when BC was talking about doing a DVD, but haven't spoken to her since. I also did a T Shirt design for BC back in the Track Records days. To Ivy (or anyone else in an "official" capacity) would it be OK to put a feature together on BC and broadcast it on our webcast? Here is our link, our shows run continuously, and we have archive sections of our stuff, and guest artists, if you want to make sure we're legitimate: www.xstatix.netI could either put together some assorted BC video clips (most of the YouTube videos are pretty hard to hear), or put together a slideshow of pics, played over a cut from "Live Bootleg" or something. I'd like to give a brief history of the band, then end with a video, or the aforementioned slideshow, etc. I think more people should hear about these guys. Also, I'd like to see about a routing gig for BC at a club we play at (I do the club's website also). Sorry this is so long, but could someone get back to me on this? Does anyone have any other ideas, or any videos with better sound quality? Thanks, Doug Dye P.S. I want to add that I cannot describe how proud I am of these guys and their spirit, coming back from the "dead" after so many years! I took my brother to the Charlottesville show, and we got to talk to Dickie at length afterwards. My brother is now a huge fan, and many of my friends will come with me to the next BC show anywhere near us.

A little documentary of Blue Cheer not a bad idea ddye. Yeah some of the You Tube clips are hard to hear and some have bad sound quality. But it's better than nothing.

Yeah, I'd hoped that Ivy and I could have done something more extensive, but a five minute multimedia clip would be nice to introduce people to BC... I wouldn't want to do it if it weren't "officially" santioned though, the boys have been ripped off enough as it is. Doug

I think it's a great idea, BUT, any mention of Randy Holden and/or clips, songs and pictures during his tenure with Blue Cheer would have to be cleared with The Guitar God himself. His Deity would expect nothing less. Carry on!

Hey Festooned Piglips, is Randy paying you to do these posts, or are you Randy him self, being a total shit-head?

His Deity would expect nothing less. Carry on! I have no great desire to make the presentation into a museum, I was suggesting concetrating on the current lineup, with mention of the band's beginnings and early success. Still, it's not violating any law to mention a musician's NAME on the internet, is it? I really don't want to get involved in guitar player wars here... Doug

Neither do any of the other 'cheer heads' on this board, ignore that nit wit - reminds me of a fly that keeps buzzing around your head (swat)! Duck is the guitar player for Blue Cheer, we're lucky to have him, he's fucking great, perfect for bringing the BC sound to a new audience and a cool guy to boot - end of story! I look forward to seeing the video - the more exposure this band can get the better.

Just kidding, but the ones on YouTube are either bad video or bad sound. The best one I've seen there is "Second TIme Around", but you can't hear the vocals... ARGGGGGGGGGG! Doug

Hey maybe anyone from this board who has good videos of BC could send a copy to ddye if he's willing to share his email address. (note: he doesn't have to post it for everyone to see using the personal messages would be a better idea) I think a brief bio of the band on his web cast would be great exposer for the band.

I'm guessing that Festooned Piglips Randy's "dog" Duck is a perfect fit for Blue Cheer right now, he doing great things with BC, and I can't see any other guitarist doing what Duck has done with the band. So, if "Mr. Fill In" can't live with that, well that's his problem.

I don't mind. My band email is: doug@xstatix.net Large files can be sent to: douglasalandye@yahoo.com Has anyone even seen the webcast? I'd hate to have people say that it wasn't appropriate for a tribute to BC... www.xstatix.net/webcast.aspDon't worry, we don't make any money from it. Doug

Hey ddye, how many hits does your website get a month? Since we started, we get a few thousand a month, the webcast gets in the hundreds over the course of a week. The archives also get a lot of hits. Next month we're starting to do one webcast a month from a local bar, we're hoping for some media coverage... I cannot tell you how much fun it is doing the webcast, it is literally like doing a TV show every week. I swear, I like it better than playing live, especially with a live audience at the webcast. Maybe we can get Dickie and the boys to come by during the tour if he's close, it would be so cool to have people message questions and comments in, but that's wishful thinking, I know... Doug

I hope you can get them on your web cast. By the way where is your band from?
