There is only one 3rd Blue Cheer album, and it has perhaps the greatest side 2 of any album in vinyl history. Do not pretend that any new album will be the 3rd album OK! Pork boy we get the point, and you forgot to log in....................... again

I am sitting here with my knee in a splint, so I have some time to type in some random thoughts and general musings.
I consider Paul integral to the band's SOUND. For this reason he should not be overlooked as some have posted earlier. Each album that Paul is on delivers. These albums include Vincebus, OutsideInside, New Improved, Highlights and Lowlives, Live Bootleg. (Did I miss any?).
When Paul dropped out the first time, the band sound changed. Probably at the direction of the suits, but still good music was to be had. Dickie showed his versatility in covering music that would have been out of place on the first two albums. As an artist you should be allowed to stretch out.
So Dickie is the leader of the band, but Paul pushes the sound into the envelope we know and love as Blue Cheer!
Both are needed.
With that said, I am looking forward to hear Hasselvander, too see how well he carried the torch in the interim.
Discussion please.... (a number of you heard Hasselvander in the early stages of the American tour...)

Riffraff,
You did miss one... the fucking BEAST! That album kicks ass all around despite Megaforce's attempt to overproduce it and make BC look like a hair band. This is one band who's sound can not be fucked up. Also, I'm really amzed that you missed Guitar God!!!! Not that it delivered as much as some of had hoped. MHO is that it needed more jamming and less structured "songs." The last release, GG2001 was an improvement but then that has nothing to do with Paul.
I saw most of the Hasselvander gigs. If, in a given situation, Paul is unable to play, Joe is the next best thing. He has the Whaley vibe down and totally respects Paul. Not quite the same thing but MUCH closer than any other past BC drummer (Norman Mayall anyone?).

Whaley was on the Beast is Back (Megaforce Years)?...yeah how did I miss that one???
Yeah, take any major rock band and eliminate the drummer who originated the sound and you really loose a lot! Jimmy Page is the only one that recognised it!
