Thanks,
First of all a correction----Blue Cheer was 6 people --before three-
Leigh, Dickie , Paul, Vale Hamanaka ( Organ), Jerre Peterson, Jerry Whiiting ( Vocals and crabs)
The last gig with Leigh was definitely Sacramento and I don"t remember the exact date. I want to say June - August 68-- definitely after end of April when the major tour ended . Dickie and Paul , Jerry Russell waited until Leigh and me devised a way out for Leigh that let him and Blue Cheer down easy. Immediately after the decision by Leigh and myself to definitely leave the band together probably a week or two after that Sacramento Gig. The decision was based on a sequence of events needing to transpire to firm up the next step for Leigh. We met in the Los Angeles office of Mercury Records with the president , Irving Green. We told him we wanted to go to England to Produce the Record for Leigh and he gave us the go ahead, which really clinched the decision. I set about getting a contract with Mercury Phillips for Leigh with a modest advance ---enough for Leigh to move to England , followed by Liz his lady, and 3 months later by me in October of 68. We moved into a house in Notting Hill, London and set about recording Red Weather.
So really there was no real date that Leigh left but rather a series of events as the decision, to begin with, was a mutual decision . Dickie and Paul were sensitive enough to let us secure our departure before bringing Randy into the fold.
The above gigs you speak of had Randy as Guitar player . Leigh was in England when Blue Cheer Played the Round House in London but he did not go to the gig.
