My sister was watching Live Earth from Australia, and caught WolfMother hailing their major influence and idols,  none other than Blue Cheer.Obviously these are intelligent young men. |

Not to rain on your parade but it's been a very trendy thing in recent years for all the young heavy bands to site Blue Cheer as an influence because it's supposed to make them look "cool" to be into something so heavy & underground. Yet, when you hear their records, all it sounds like is 4th rate Black Sabbath, all loud with no talent. Pretty boring actually....

Wolfmother is nothing special....and nothing new under the sun......BUT you gotta hear them live to fully appreciate their sound.
