doug, there's awhole thread devoted to this subject(Paul Whaley and Off-White Trash WTF, below). the band don't seem to care about this guy. and its pretty obvious when you watch and listen to paul that he's the real deal...especially if you saw him in action when he was young...the trashman will get his comeuppance in good time...of course you could always contact the writer of the piece but short of whaley coming up with his birth cert. how do you prove something like this? the trash guy claims paul whaley was a made-up stage name so unless someone has the copyright....  ? |

As I've probably said a bunch of times already, it's best that we stop wasting spit discussing this bullshit band. All we are doing is generating publicity for them, however bad, which is probably the reason they keep telling everyone that Whaley is in the band. Even Whaley, while backstage at a gig, refused a request to be filmed for youtube refuting this "band"'s claim. BC has enough class to ignore this shit. Shouldn't we not stoop to that level as well. Anyon with half a brain would know at first glance this isn't Paul. 'Nuff said!

It was a general statement, Doug. Not specifically aimed at you. Still...I'm glad you took my advice. Any rock magazine with credibility would've known better so I won't feel sorry for them.

So after about ten minutes after I emailed the author of the article about the Paul Whaley imposture ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Ben called me back twice and then after conferring with his editor he got a hold of the band and asked them to immediately contact him and answer to the obvious horse shit that Paul Whaley is in their band . Usually this sort of thing makes me laugh because it happens so much but in this case it needs to be stopped -----why because it is not fair to the fans that might go out of their way to see a phony. Also with Blue Cheer out there working as hard as they are it is not fair to them either.
Ben has told me he will print a retraction or correction after he gives whomever a chance to respond which I guess is journalistic ethics -----surely beats paying a Lawyer .

behemouth that is funny but what's even funnier is the trash manager has just posted a pic of supposed paul whaley that looks more like randy than paul! which leads me to ask, is paul randy?(pun intended)

I wonder if this band knows that BC is currently active and on tour,...in trying to understand their agenda the guy probably thought he could use the name of a drummer from a band from the late sixties thinking that they were defunct and could make a name for himself using Paul's name or he's just whacked out or out of his mind completely - I tend to think the later
