On Thursday night March 6th, 2008, Blue Cheer played at the HiTone Cafe and got ripped off. They got payed by check and the check bounced.
To all out there, what do you think should be done? Bands, friends. people who patronize clubs. This place should not be trusted to our friends in bands. If you or someone else knows someone in a band, please warn them.
This is a serious matter in the music world when a band is relying on gigs.

Be careful with this one ---promoters have a quick and fast communication system. If in fact the check bounced and it was on purpose thats one thing . A few more attempts should be made to cash the check after informing the promoter that it bounced and see what they say.
If no results, in writing , a certified letter ,requesting to be paid . If still no results than it is fair to tell whomever that the club is not paying their bands . In no time at all they will be out of business.
This does happen but careful examination of the facts from both sides needs to be considered.
Professionally , the agent in charge of booking would be responsible to sort this out and Blue Cheer should just keep on keeping on.

Hey good people, with all your help Hi Tone has just got in touch with Blue Cheer and told them something screwy happened with their bank. They said they will have it straightened out by Monday.
They also said that they have been getting a shit load of grief from alot of people.
We will let you know if this matter has been straightened out or not.

Well, it`s a good thing that the Guitar God known as Randy Holden wasn`t playing with them on that gig, or there would have been hell to pay!!

Blue Cheer and Hi Tone

Situations have been resolved between Blue Cheer and Hi Tone.
The reasons for the unfortunate circumstance were due to a series of misunderstandings between Hi Tone Cafe and their bank and Blue Cheer and Hi Tone’s bank. The payment for Blue Cheer’s gig at Hi Tone went through today, March 18th.
Blue Cheer wants to apologize for any misunderstandings that may have incurred on their part.
