uhhh ..here's a question for the board. While listening to Deep Purple in Rock, the other day, I remember back in the day that this record and the music contained on it was a radical departure for the band from the earlier line up with Rod Evans and Nicky Simper. Listening to screamin' Ian Gillan's vocals, I can not imagine that Dickie Peterson's vocals with Blue Cheer from Vincebus Eruptum did not influence him. Any one know if any statements were made, etc..etc.? There must be other connections with this band. I know Duck had his bandmates from a earlier band recruited for Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow....I gotta look for that older thread...

That band in question was Bible Black. RIP Gary Driscoll. Interesting side note...the lead singer of that band, Jeff Fenholt was almost a member of Black Sabbath (circa 7th Star era). He never made it past the demo stage claiming he quit the band because guitar god Tony Iommi was "too satanic" for him. He caused a mild controversy at the time.

I think Blue Cheer influenced a lot of metal bands. THEY ROCK!
