Message Board Format

Hello 1%,

A few months back I received several emails from various posters requesting that I make this Message Board "sign-in only." The main reason being was because people felt that the bullshit that was getting posted here (which I to this day have refused to censor) was getting to be more prevalent than the cool, interesting posts we'd see in the past and that the board was losing it's integrity. With this new format, whoever wants to bust chops will have to stand behind their statements rather than hide as a "guest."

So now that we have tried it for a few months, I would like to know what y'all think of it. Please vote on it and post any comments that you'd like. I am the Moderator of this board BUT it does belong to all of us and your opinions matter.

is it possible to arrange it half and half, say people can visit without signing in but not contribute unless they do? or is it all or nothing?

Unfortunately, it's all or nothing...

I'll keep this poll open until the end of August and then at that point I will let the votes decide. If anyone has a stake in this, I suggest you vote. This is your chance to be heard...

OK, with some help from our friend, Gypsy Ball, I was able after all to modify this board so that anyone can view it but must log in to contribute a post (Rowenaffair's suggestion). Now, no one has to go through the hassle of remembering a password and logging in and anyone who wants bust another member's chops can do so under the condition they stand behind their words.

Thank you to everyone that took the time to vote. I think this should solve everyone's problems. Y'all happy?
