Thanks Otherhalf! This is really cool. Wish I was gonna be in Davis during that time.
An interesting tidbit...back in 2006 at the beginning of the major BC tour of the states, I was hanging out with Dickie before the 4th gig at Maxwell's in Hoboken and I asked him if he still kept in touch with Gary Yoder. He laughed and said "Matter of fact, I just jammed with him 2 weeks ago!" It's cool that these guys all kept in touch and kept playing together even if it was just to entertain themselves. I wonder what they jammed on.....

I wonder how the Yoder gig went....did anyone here go? As you say fbl it's great that these people kept in touch. I remember looking closely at the details of those east coast gigs back in 2006 and wondering if I could get across....in the end time and money made it unfeasible. I think it was Maxwells (or maybe the Black Cat) that seemed to record all the performances there, so maybe there is good audio of the gig you went to. There's a long Randy Holden audio interview here: threshingfloor-radio.com/index.php/2010/07/spirit-sound-randy-holden/I've only listened to a bit of it myself.....and suspect it's not for the faint hearted!

I always wondered what became of Gary Yoder after the demise of BC. He must have been quite a prolific musician in the scene at that time, what with Oxford Circle, Kak and Blue Cheer. He was also manager at the Matrix according to reports, but after OPH he just seemed to drop from sight like everyone else associated with BC. Perhaps Eric can enlighten us there. At least Gary is still alive and well and still performing.

This Holden interview is by far the BEST one he ever conducted. Interesting subject matter without any of the typical slams on the ULTIMATE band ever...Blue Cheer. I really enjoyed listening to this. Randy, THIS is the kind of stuff we were expecting from you when we asked you to do an interview with our magazine and NOT the sarcastic drivel you provided us instead!
