Anyone here going to the show in Cleveland Friday night? From what I have been told they are playing in the smaller Tavern room at Beachland. Which means at least three people's heads will explode during the show! I saw them play in the larger Ballroom there this summer and it was a super cool show.
This will make my 3rd show for this fall tour. If I had the dough I would go to the all! I never get tired of having my ass kicked by Blue Cheer! They are playing in Lexington Kentucky tonight at a place called the Dame. I have heard it was a really great place to see a show as well from a guy I work with. Keep on rockin'!

I am off to Cleveland this morning. Got about a 6 hour drive ahead of me today. Thank God for the iPod! I will let everyone know how it went when I get back in a couple of days!
I am not the greatest reviewer in the world, but I will try and do the show some justice!

The show was awesome! They played the same set as the previous two shows I saw in Virginia and North Carolina. They played in the smaller part of the Beachland Ballroom called the Tavern. So it was really up close and personal.
We got to the Tavern around 10pm as it was a late show. I talked to Duck for a minute because he was standing right next to the door. I then went over to the bar and Paul was sitting by himself at the end of the bar. Not only was he once again super nice to me, but he also bought me a Red Stripe beer!
Glenn Schwartz opened up for them. He used to play for Pacific, Gas, and Electric. He was also an original member of The James Gang. He is a really good guitar player. I slowly moved my way up to the front during his set so I could get some good photos of the band. By the time BC took the stage it seemed to be a full house.
I think I pissed a couple of Glenn Schwartz's fans off when I assured them that Duck would turn out to be the top axeman that night. Oh well, I guess after Blue Cheer got done with the place there weren't any arguments to be made.
The show itself was really great! They didn't hurry through the set or half ass any of the songs. Paul told me before the show that his knees were bothering him, but I never would have known it the way he pounded the kit all night long.
Dickie was dressed like he was fresh from the BC 4 photo shoot when he took the stage. He was in great voice and in great form when he hit the first few notes of Babylon to get things rolling. Everyone there had a great time, and they all took time to met and sign things for everyone after it was over.
I really have to say after listening to all the Cheer albums and bootlegs ever made available to the public that this has to be my favorite line up of them all. They went the extra mile at this show when they played Second Time Around and Doctor Please. They seemed tighter at this show than the previous ones I have been to see this summer and fall.
My friends from Cleveland really enjoyed the show, and they were really impressed with how devoted their fans are when it comes to seeing them play live. I only hope to see them again in the spring supporting that new album! I have been to hundreds of shows over the last 18 years and I swear this 2006 Blue Cheer has kicked them all square in the ass!
There is a whole other world out there called Blue Cheer. And I have to say that I really feel sorry for those who are not aware that these guys are back out on the road and playing their hearts out at every show.
Hope that gave you some kind of idea how it all went down in Cleveland.

Yeah, very good review Sam,...it seems once they get midway and or toward the end of the tours they're fully warmed up by that point and the shows get tighter and tighter,...same with the Spring tour this year I saw them five times and the last two were the tightest (North Six & Montreal) I believe Frankenpint said he was at the Cleveland show you were at Sam
