Eric Albronda, if you still follow this board maybe you can answer this. I have always been curious about the extent of Dickie's involvement on the fifth and sixth BC albums ("BC#5: The Original Human Being" and "Oh! Pleasant Hope"). On BC#5, did Dickie play on any of the songs that Gary Yoder sang? I doubt he plays on the Norman Mayell tracks, "Good Times Are So Hard to Find" or "Babaji (Twilight Raga)". He might play on some others as he is pictured with Gary Yoder at the microphone. As for OPH, I suspect Dickie only plays on the last two songs (the ones he sings), as several other bass players are credited on this album. I once read that he only sang on the last two songs and didn't play on them. Does Eric or someone else have the definitive answers?

I changed my user name as my email has changed to eric@finestplanet.com. Feel free to use it for questions. so user name is now "citizensfo" thanks Eric Dickie was somewhat compromised during 5 and 6. No he did not play on Normans songs -Norman did them by himself with Eric Jacobson helping him as far as production. Dickie did play bass on most of the other songs and did sing most of them . We recorded his voice and Yoder's voice and then picked the best ? one. The problem on these two albums came from lack of material as Dickie was not writing much--so Peddicord , Mayall,l Kellogg . Yoder- Grelecki wrote songs for the albums to fill them up. It was fun to record all these individuals and made for an interesting recording at the same time difficult as it was pieced together from my perspective. Of interest is that the musicians were making union sale to record arrange etc and it did add up and so most of them would string out the sessions for as long as possible to get more money as they were all broke , big time. Also at the time if they sold at least 80,000 or so worldwide the company could justify doing another one until after BC6 OH Pleasant Hope when the company decided they just could not support the Freaks anymore . The next album was to be BC7 recorded in 1979 but as you know we had to wait until a few years ago for this…………………. Hope this helps anytime Eric
