Hi, New to the board, but a longtime Blue Cheer fan, was wondering if somebody knew anything about the Blue Cheer band that was posted on a Blue Cheer Facebook page, They are suppose to be playing a concert @ Brians Backyard Bar BQ. on Nov.20 . Is this a legit use of the Blue Cheer name , and who makes up the band?  |

Hi Freedomwrider, welcome to the board. Which BC page did you see this? The Brian's webpage isn't updated but without Dickie, the Blue Cheer name is now retired and any use of it is definitely NOT legit. I'm curious to know who is trying to cash in this time....

OK here's the scoop....this is NOT Blue Cheer. This is a sad attempt by some butt-plug named Bodack to cash-in on the Blue Cheer name. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with respecting Dickie. There is NOT ONE person playing in this bogus version of a great band that ever played with BC prior and Bodack has absolutely no claim to the name. He was supposedly a BC manager for a short time in the 80s and when the BC7 album was officially issued by ShroomAngel records, he tried to get a bullshit BC reunion to happen with former BC guitarist, Tony Rainier (who was respectful and dignified enough to not do it). Y'all can ignore this bullshit and if anyone does go to see this gig, hopefully it's for the sole purpose of throwing bottles or molatov cocktails at these douche bags....THIS IS NOT SANCTIONED BY THE 1%. To quote Deep Purple, "you fool no one."
