Yeah, It's pretty amazing that this board is about Blue Cheer and the band is currently on tour and it seems no one other than the reviews of the Phili, NY and Montreal shows got any good reviews...everyone else has been silent practically yet some people are ranting on about stupid shit about Holden,.....people seem to take for granted that these guys will always be around instead of appreciating the fact these guys have been actively touring, playing their asses off to please the few who still give a shit...yet, all I've been reading is criticismzs about the set list and stupid ranting over who has the right to perform someone's (who is insignificant at this point!) song who hasn't been in the band but for one half of an album side and did one tour ,.....what kind of fans are they ? I think that's pretty fucked up if you ask me ....Meanwhile you take up space with your stupid shit of a post that has nothing to do with either Blue Cheer or Randy Holden Randy Holden insignificant? ? Pal, you're the one who's insignificant! When was the last time YOU started a band that continues for years? When was the last time anybody wanted your autograph? When was the last time anyone referred to you as God? Yup, I didn't think so! Wasn't Eric Clapton called a guitar god by his fans? Also keep in mind Pigshit, Holden only recored 3 songs with BC, while Leigh recorded 15 songs with BC. So let that rattle your peace of mind ;D

By When did the band do the soundcheck, By-Tor? And when did they play? Was the soundcheck just before the first band got on? How did F&I sound? How was Duck's vocals? Whaley and Dickie had a pretty hard driving rythm section going on in the original studio recording.... Cool that they played it! It was before any of the bands played when they were checking the sound levels. They didn't do it in the regular set. My buddy caught some of it on his video cam. It was really good. More bluesy and more intense than the original.

Dude, no way could anyone make the original more intense than the original one. See, most folks cite The beatles for their musical eduation. not me, no sirree. All my musical eduaction, not to mention spiritual enlightenment came, and continues to sprong forth from the second side of Blue cheer's third album. Encoded in those 3 songs are all the answers you'll ever need in life, hence the creators name GUITAR GOD. Matter of fact Randy Holden, is kinda like Jesus on that album. Whereas Jesus had his cross, Randy had his side of vinyl to spread his gospel. And wasn't Jesus flanked on each side while on the cross by 2 criminals? Well, Randy was flanked by his 2 partners in crime on that mighty hunk o' vinyl. Jesus lived 33 years to spread the word; Randy had 33 1/3 RPM's to spread his. ALL HAIL THE GUITAR GOD....RANDY HOLDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By-Tor...thanks for the info. Whereas I would like to hear Blue Cheer's soundcheck Saturday night at Shuba's in Chicago, it looks pretty improbable. The show starts at 10 pm, so they probably won't be on until midnight. Probably get home 3 am. So I doubt I would show early to catch a sound check. Your friend was very lucky or very diligent. Hats off to him! I met an ex-roadie from '68 at one of last year's show. So I called him to remind him of Saturday's show. He said he wasn't aware of it, but now that he knows, he will stop by to see and hear the band. A guy from work listened to Louder than God and liked the early stuff, so he is going to the show too. Two other buddies of mine crapped out. Not my wife's cup of tea, but maybe sometime they can do an all ages show, so that my daughter can attend!

People seem to forget that Randy Holden is the only Blue Cheer guitarist to ever have been invited to the Vatican, and whilst he was there he blessed the Pope during a personal audition, so if the Pope allowed him to do that, maybe there is more to the God in GuitarGod than meets the eye.

Think about this; Jesus started the church, and yet it continues to this day long after he physically left this Earth. Randy started Blue Cheer, and it continues to this day long after he physically left the band. The Bible has 66 books in it. Randy Holden has officially released 51 songs, either with other bands or solo. His goal no doubt will to be to release 15 more before he ascends to the great gig in the sky. Jesus was chastised in his day by non-believers when he said he was the Messiah; Randy Holden is chastised today by non-believers when he says he started Blue Cheer, or at the very least that they're really His band. Jesus had 12 loyal disciples. Randy definitely has at least that amount, myself included I could go on ya know........

Any guitarist first of all who refers to himself as a "Guitar god" has serious issues,...and anyone who tries to compare anyone to Jesus has even bigger major issues !

No longer funny --truth be known Mr. Lips is Randy Holden-----anything to see the name in print on a site that represents the apex of a life that was fleeting at best ----boreing my friend absolutely boreing and without merit ---please just go away and stop this unfounded and egotistical ranting just to stir up shit and see your name in print.
