I see the release date of New and Improved was March 1969. Just guessing this record was recorded in late 1968, if Holden was gone by January 1969?
One last odd question about the band images on back cover. Are there anymore unreleased photos of the band while recoding this LP?

I believe that Randy was there a little longer than Jan 1969. If memory serves, I think he made it to the Spring. But yes, the tunes were recorded before they went on tour to promote OutsideInside. No pictures of the band recording the album have surfaced as of yet.

I find it interesting that they tried to match Bruce's guitar tone to Randy's tone on that album. And he didn't use that tone before or after New Improved

Thanks so much for all the information you provided. As you guys are aware supposedly Holden had a hand in designing the the BC#3 cover IE: the cartoon of the old lady with the pie character was a reference to his mother. Thanks again. Kai

I am not but while researching Blue Cheer #3 for the photos, I found an older online Holden interview. He mentioned he was an artist and had worked a bit on the cover ( something about his mother) BTW: I just listened to the Clayton Niles song with Dickey as vocalist, I don’t see a year of recording but would guess 1971-1972. It would have been a great addition for the last LP as a bonus track.
Thank you. More questions to come.
