Was with Feedback Lourde last night at the North Star club in Philadelphia and yes, BC kicked ass last night I will say that the version they did of Doctor Please was one of the better performances I've seen them do of that song in particular Duck did a very good guitar jam and even played the guitar with his teeth which was the first time I've seen him do that ,...he is definately from that old school of the Hendrix blues genre, Paul was great and of course Dickie is always Dickie....we hung out with them before and after the show and they are really three nice dudes,...I was talking drums with Paul being I'm a drummer myself...Paul is a really nice guy if you get to hang with him you'll know what I'm talking about...looking forward to seeing them tonight in NYC and meeting the rest of the BC family backstage,... Babylon, we were looking for you - did you make it there last night?

It was pretty much the same set but in a different order and they didn't do Hoochie Koochie Man this time.... to me the way they did the songs were more trippier - they did them a little more slower paced which gave it a more psychedelic trippy feel which is good in my opinion Duck was really impressive on Dr. Please

Hopefully they'll play stuff from their new album, when it comes out.

Babylon, we were looking for you - did you make it there last night? Hey guys - sorry I missed everyone - I just made it in time to catch Cheer and had to split before the encore, (did they do one?), so I didn't get to hang with the guys this time around - which was unfortunate. I'm just finally recovering from last night's incredible BC show - Despite it being cold and windy outside - inside the North Star was like a molten volcano. Yes, Blue Cheer still can crank it up and deliver the cure for the summertime or anytime blues!! I agree with Mr M - 'Doctor Please' was epic. Simply epic - like the movie '300' these guys just keep lobing heads off until the bodies are stacked a mile high. Tireless and without peer - they are defiant to age, critics and non-believers. Against all odds they plod forth with glorious feedback and fury. These guys found new heights with that one last night. Paul was 'in the pocket' on the drum kit - just driving the rhythm train with Dickie while 'Duck' took the roof off with searing leads and slow crunching riffs!! He is 'old school' in the best sense of the term - I love hearing him play live because he knows how to punch your face in with precise killer hooks without boring you to tears with tired filler. Figured I'd go with the prize fighter analogy 'cuse that is what this band is like - they know their way around the ring and can knock anyone's block off - even if they are forty years older! Like 'jazz greats' they use the song's structure as a launching pad to improvise - it was a fucking fantastic show. Basically, they pounded the place into the ground with pure energy and not just volume - but, yes it was loud and glorious!! They had a fluid, tripped-out vibe going last night - walls were swaying in slow motion - ok, maybe not - but, you catch my drift! I won't ruin this post by telling people what I thought of the band that went on before them, thankfully, I only had to suffer for a song or two - horrible beyond words!! Who cares - it's all about BC, If any of you can - go out and support the Cheer! ;D

So, am I correct to assume that the set was same as the last tour, I.E. Song from the first 2 albums? Also, are they still going on real late, like midnight? Either way, it's still good to see the boys out on tour!!
Oh yeah, by the way...I may be a little late with this, but I just recently got the Nirvana box set "With The Lights Out", which includes a DVD of rare footage. Well, the first few songs on it are of the band rehearsing in Krist's mother's living room in December of '88, and at one point the camera is scanning the room and comes across a stack of albums against the wall. What's the first album prominently displayed? "Vincebus Eruptum"! The camera man even focuses (out of focus??) on this album for a few seconds. This confirms what I always suspected, that those guys were at least somewhat influenced by the mighty Blue Cheer. Oh how I would have loved to have heard them cover a Blue Cheer song or 2. Back to the scheduled programming......
