Ask Riffraff. Isn't it about time he chimed in now?

YEAH MAN, FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, IF FRANK MARINO WAS STILL IN BLUE CHEER, OL' RIFFRAFF WOULD BE ALL OVER THAT! UNTIL HE'S BACK IN THE BAND, HE'LL JUST HAVE TO SETTLE FOR DUCK.

Interesting article, Riffraff. But what is this reference to "Randy Holden's Blue Cheer?" I thought that concept was long dropped? Anyway, now is not the time to stir up any shitstorms. Also....all kidding aside, I heard a rumour that your buddy, Frank Marino, may actually play with the band in Montreal. Anyone know anything about this?

I think this article illustrates that it was never Randy Holden's idea to take over the name Blue Cheer. It was Randy Pratt's. Also in the article you can see examples of Pratt speaking ahead of the reality. Such as putting out an album with Randy Holden and Vinnie Appice. (The recordings are waiting for vocals. Will it be released who knows. ) What if I told you Paul Whaley was a fan of Frank Marino. Personally, I can't wait to see BC June 25th....any order. Never had the opportunity to see them live. Don't know if I will get to meet them, but I am gonna try...they gotta eat. Maybe I will see them at the hot dog stand We are all connected...musicians more so.

What if I told you Paul Whaley was a fan of Frank Marino. What if I told you nobody cares.....About Frank Marino or who is a fan of his

Arnulfo (and your 60 other aliases--how are things below the Mason-Dixon line? ), What if I told you that Frank Marino was a big Randy Holden fan & vice-versa. There is a reason why the covers of GuitarGod 2001 & Eye Of The Storm look almost the same. Matter of fact, this evening I am going to see a a rare live gig of Randy Holden & Mahogany Rush, at the Electric Ballroom in Chicago!

I beleave Randy Holden is on this recording. The guitar tone seem to be the same as the guitar tone on the New! Improved! album.

You are incorrect! Leigh was definitely the guitarist at that gig and I don't think Randy ever actually played (or would play) Doctor Please while he was in BC. Dickie remembers that show. He said that some of their equipment was stolen right before and some of the gear that was used was not their own.

Yeah, I hear that Randy was more akin to Dear Mister Pharmacist.

I didn't know that. But then again Leigh had a diffrent tone on the Doctor Please and Summertime Blues demo. Why isn't there any good sounding live recordings of Blue Cheer out there?

Or everyone was too busy taping the Grateful Dead. There are a lot of great bands from that time where there is very little or nothing at all from the original line-ups. Love is another band where there is virtually nothing until much later. As EIO suggests, perhaps BC played with so much volume that it was impossible to tape any of their shows.

Actually Feathered, that's what Owsley the Bear (Gratefulful Dead soundboard man/inventor of Blue Cheer tabs) said. He didn't feel that anyone could've made a decent recording of the band due to their extreme volume. But c'mon, there's gotta be some tapes out there! There's probably a huge stack of soundboards in someone's mother's attic that is conveniently stashed away or maybe one or two that conveniently "burned away in someone's house fire."
