VERY IMPORTANT!!!! I have noticed that a lot of other sites out there have BC's website address wrong. This is critical for Google, because Google LOVES "backward links". Stoner Rock and Track Records are two that I found quickly. If you run across any other websites that have BC's URL listed incorrectly, PLEASE either notify the site, or notify me. Every correction that we can make will elevate Blur Cheer's visibility in Google and help drive traffic to their website. This WILL make a big difference!
Thanks again,
Doug

Doug it is imperative that the new site be your production , your ideas and your vision . This way the site will be a unique and individual statement. To much input from other sources used will lead to a Grey site with little personality . In other words, Doug I support your venture 100% and hope you use your prerogative as the designer to create a heart felt dedicated site to Blue Cheer ---one produced by you and your company.

Thanks again, Doug The old site also has a lot of broken links, which take you to this site. gamma.sitelutions.com/~peterson/This also has the original "splash" pages, and the Randy Holden link is on there too.

Doug, Why put all these links in at all? Blue Cheer is about music and not somebody who none of us have ever heard of before interviewing Dickie or Paul or Duck. Who wants to read about countless articles about what somebody said and when they said it? Stick to a website about Blue Cheer and their music and not some non-entity and what he had to say about Blue Cheer. Links should be relevant to Blue Cheer and their music, like to Scott`s website dedicated to Leigh, yes....even Randy`s website, but not to countless interviews that no true Cheer fan will give a toss about. Read the `World Tour 2007` page on Frank`s website. Whoever took the time to enter all that needs to belong to an asylum. Have you read it all? Has anybody read it all? It is totally irrelevant to Blue Cheer and their music. I just hope that you haven`t already fallen into the same trap with your current project. Have you cared to look at other band`s sites and what they have on their`s before you started this project? Or are you merely listening to or disregarding what others have to say to you, and deciding how to proceed based on their opinions? We corresponded a long time ago. I might have sent you tapes of different things from the eighties, maybe some demos from earlier. I think you should really have gone ahead with `your` Blue Cheer website first, and then announced it to the masses, instead of letting the masses decide what should go on it, because, after all, it`s your creation. I really think that the only correspondence that you should have had with anybody over this was with Duck or Dickie or Paul, because it`s all about them and what they want or think. I actually clicked on a link at random that `Whole Lotta Shakin`` sent you and got a link to what might have been some MUSLIM TERRORIST site for all I know, because `MUSLIM` was the prime word in it`s title, and it had F ALL to do with Blue Cheer.

I've noticed that there are two basic kinds of website visitors, those who want to cut right to the content of the site, and those who are a little more obsessive cumpulsive, who want to devour every word. Although I am generally the first type, I admit that I DID read almost every word in the World Tour 2007 page on Frank`s website. I found it fascinating, although the content should have been linked instead of posted on a page that looks a half a mile long. And by the way, I only used a few of Whole Lotta Shakin's links. Links are important to any search engine strategy, and they enable a site visitor to have access to more information without having to wade through it on the site itself. For example, I linked to the Wikepedia entry on Blue Cheer. Wikipedia has several bad links to Blue Cheer, and I can now contact them, point out that I am linked to them, and ask them to correct the bad links. Those "fixed" links on Wikipedia will now strengthen Blue Cheer's Google standing. Look at it this way, a links page is a throwaway for many people, you don't have to even click on it if you're not interested, but the internet is driven by links, and links are important to search engines. I used a few that are rather impressive, such as the Rolling Stone review, but mainly tried to find links that are unusual, like the one with the video of Dickie singing Young Lions In Paradise in a sport coat while George Michalski plays piano. As a BC fan, I had never seen that, I thought it was unique. And I had no idea that there was a website with the lyrics to 87 BC songs. I found that rather amusing, as I also did the website that offers "Summertime Blues" ringtones. Hey, if you can't have a little fun with this stuff... I was asked to use my own "vision" to create a good site, but I solicited some help because there are some people here who know stuff that is really cool that few people in the entire world would know. But make no mistake, this isn't a "cooperative" creation. Doug P.S. I had long forgotten who sent me those old interview tapes. I want you to know that I listened to every second of them, and I can't tell you how cool it was to catch up on a part of BC's history that I didn't even know about until I stumbled onto the Artist Direct BC forum. That's another reason for this site, for guys like me who might stumble across it, and realize that wow, Blue Cheer is STILL together. Hell, that's how I got involved years ago in the first place. Doug, Why put all these links in at all? Blue Cheer is about music and not somebody who none of us have ever heard of before interviewing Dickie or Paul or Duck. Who wants to read about countless articles about what somebody said and when they said it? Then there`s the copyright issue on some of the albums. I believe that there has been a legal issue for some time concerning who owns the rights to the three Nebellung albums. Do you need permission to copy parts of any of those songs as sound clips? All I know is, one will definitely need permission before any soundclips from side two of the New! Improved! album can be posted. It's a copyright issue that cannot be ignored! Are you planning to sell albums through the website? Remember that the band only receives the same pittance for every album sold, irrespective of what the selling price is. Have you found a way to cut out all the middle men in the music business so that Blue Cheer benefit more from the sale of an album on the website as opposed to elsewhere? The music buying public will always go looking for the best deal when it comes to buying albums. Perhaps you can get the gentleman who goes by the name of Richard on this site to sell Blue Cheer albums. Seems he's pretty knowledgable in this area.
