Eric Why did you go to England with Leigh when there were still four albums left in Blue Cheer`s contract? Can you tell us anything about Leigh prior to him joining Blue Cheer. There seems to be no documentation of his origins in music or how he became a member of Blue Cheer. Was he there at the very beginning? I have a list of band line-ups which included Dickie, Paul and even Burns Kellog, Bruce Stephens, Gary Yoder etc., prior to their days with Blue Cheer, but there is nothing (no bands) with Leigh in them.

Featheredfish
The original contract called for 2 albums per year . After, each album was contracted one at time depending on who was around , who would babysit the musicians and state of mind . So New Improved was primarely done because Milan Melvin said he would produce. So there really was not 4 albums left on a contract . I went to England with Leigh because I knew the lineup changes would destroy their momentum as gained with Leigh Paul and Dickie. Also I wanted to learn how to produce records and I had always wondered why the British Musicians , at the time, made superior recordings to our own. Leigh was recommended to Paul as a good guitar player from someone in Davis, California. Leigh was not in on the decision to create Blue Cheer -- That was Dickie, Myself, Jerry Russell and Roy Buell. Leigh had a few high school bands and one that has been named on this board before ( I forgot the name) but no even marginal success up to his joining Blue Cheer which was probably 2-3 months after the original decision was made. Cheers, Eric

Do you know which tracks contain the drum work of Whaley and which ones have Hasselvander? Or are they all done by one drummer?

Both Whaley & Hasselvander are on this album. Don't know yet who's on what track but it's definitely Paul on Just A Little Bit...

How come neither Bruce Stephens nor Mr Rewind are credited with any song writing this time?

I heard they were contractually stuck working on the new Randy Holden cd "Pass me that Cheeseburger" or was it..."My My...Pizza Pie"

If you look at the Randy Holden site, you'll see that "Blue" is no longer the forthcoming album. It has been switched to "Population 2--Remix." According to a member of the Holden camp, the new Blue Cheer looks way too heavy to compete with so Randy has decided to release yet again his most popular, jamming record. The thing is, this album has been bootlegged so many times, it seems almost a sin to buy it directly from the artist.

I can`t wait for the release of `Guitar God 2099` which should be his eleventh album in the series which started in 1994. Being a Guitar God he is destined to live forever. I just hope that my immortality arrives in the mail before I die, so that I can enjoy it when it finally comes out.

What do these obnoxious and adolescent posts have to do with the release of Blue Cheers new CD? Andrew "Duck" MacDonald rules! Let me get this straight..........you say that the previous posts were adolescent, only to end your post with "Andrew "Duck" MacDonald rules!" ?? Nobody past the age of 15 says that ANYTHING rules! That's the kind of stuff you say in high school. Oh man, I love the irony of it all!!
