This is awesome! I go away for a long holiday weekend and suddenly this board kicks into life again. So...anyway...drugs are illegal. BUT the silver lining of that law being broken (and rightfully so) was all the great music that was written last century by musicians under their influence that they would've never written. What would've been the centerpiece of BCs set if Doctor Please wasn't inspired, I wonder. As for the original post that started this conversation, Sugarmegs has been down for awhile now and I am sooo sorry to burst your bubble Mr. Festooned Piglips (can we start calling you Uncle Fester at this point since you've now become a regular here?), BUT there actually was in fact a recording on Sugmegs that featured Randy Holden....a live BC show of them in Amsterdam on their first European tour. I'm gald I downloaded it when I did because when I burned it to disk 2 days later and went attempted to go back to sugmegs to get the liner notes it was down!!! Anyone else here get a download? I'd be happy to supply a copy to anyone for a small price if Festooned Piglips here will give us his blessing as an act of good faith. It's not like he has a copy to sell so what's there to lose?

my dear mister piglips, before you accuse me of not thinking you might try READING what i wrote. the silver lining was in the illegal act, not the law, and the bars and alarms were in my mansion full of stuff i'm worrying about losing. and do you know if elton has still got the rights to his stuff, and hasn't pawned them for something along the way like half the heavies in the business? when someone downloads gimme shelter, its allen klein who gets the money, not the stones, and for the rest of us who can't afford the gunslinger lawyers ...well, i'm sure YOU know what's wot.
but i think fbl's example is much more relevant to the board, and i took VERY seriously john lennon's advice, you know, "turn off your mind...." before it trips you up!

Might I suggest you lay off the mood-altering substances until AFTER you`ve posted? It may just make your posts a little more legible and a lot more comprehensible. Then again, knowing you, maybe not.......

I do not believe for one minute you obtained a copy of this show. First of all, Sir Randy Holdens copy was burned when a scorned ex-wife decided to burn down his house. And, we all know that this was the last copy known to mankind.

This was NOT the last copy. Remember, whoever made the (soundboard quality) tape sent a copy to Randy. You really believe (or want to believe) that he/she destroyed any other copies he/she had? No one was that high in the 60s! AND I don't actually believe that Randy's copy was destroyed, Mr. Piglips. I think he's sitting on it. So...taking Yage's advice of "Snooze you lose" I will start selling copies of this and make millions of dollars before he changes his mind and does the same. And because Dickie & Paul jammed so hard on it, they will get 1/2 the proceeds. All we need now is Festooned Piglip's blessing. If he gives us that, maybe I'll send him a % or 2.

Thanks for the offer, but I will have to decline...it just wouldn`t be right. Now, what needs to happen is to set up a deal between you and Randy Holden, being as he IS the owner of the name Blue Cheer (remember, he copyrighted it), hence he is the rightful owner of this recording, and then he alone can decide the fate of this recorded work. He then can work out a deal with Dickie and Paul...that is, if they lay off of the substances long enough to do any real business. He then can release it on his own label, as that will allow him, and him alone, 100% complete control over who gets it and when. Besides, the only reason Dickie and Paul "jammed so hard" is because they were in the presence of a GUITAR GOD!!!!!!!!

How about getting Duck to overdub the guitar parts. No legal hassles this way and we a real bona-fide treat and a much louder recording!

I'd give FBL $100 for it. Just take out the 2 songs that Holden wrote, and give the $100 to the true members of Blue Cheer. I think we know which ones I'm talking about. ;D

I mean, you condradicted yourself in your post; i mean, which is it...are you going to give the $100 to FBL or are you going to give it to the "true members of Blue Cheer"? Then again, some of the fault can be laid at my feet. I should have known better than to expect anything even remotely resembling intelligence to come forth from you. All we need now is a "hey, let me organize some promotion for the band!!!" from Riffraff and this place will feel like home again! Lots o` love, FP
