There's a Silver Metre show on the Sugar Megs website tela.sugarmegs.org/darkstar/SilverMetre1970-07-10.wmaHere's something from the setlist page for the Silver Metre gig. Silver Metre - Fillmore West, San Francisco, California, July 10th 1970.
opening for Quicksilver Messenger Service.
1. naughty lady 15:42 2. ballad of a well known guy 4:37 3. country comforts 4:27 4. compromising situation 8:08 5. jumping jack flash 5:53 6. need your love so bad 6:57 7. sixty years on 8:53
Album Outtakes:
8. train kept a rollin' 3:07 9. just give me some more time 3:47
Jack Reynolds (vocals) Leigh Stephens (guitar) Pete Sears (bass, organ, vocals) Micky Waller (drums)
Really rare good audience, not good as the Mint Tatto's show, but really enjoyable, with fantastic psychedelic guitars' jam, like the 15 minutes of naughty lady, for another great Blue Cheer offshot.

As you already know, this kind of stuff is illegal. Do the members of Silver Metre get any royalties from your "free" download? This is as bad as stealing food from a farmers farm. Dispicable!!!!!!

anyone concerned about the musicians in question can look leigh up on the web and send him a donation for the download if they want...most musicians while loving to get paid also like their stuff out there circulating...let it go and let it rock! while universal sits on so many people's legacies and offers precious little in terms of royalties when they do release stuff...

Wow, what a way to justify illegal behaviour! Nah, I believe most artists would want to get paid. Hey, what if you went to work and your boss said "I`m not going to pay you this week, but look at it this way; You coming to work without pay at least gets you out of the house!". Furthermore, Leigh isn`t the only songwriter on those tunes on that bootleg, so you would have to look up who wrote those songs (like, Elton John for example) and send them money as well.

of course most artists want to get paid! however that is not the case these days and until someone DOES something about it it's better to have it out there than sitting on some shelf...NO?? are YOU doing something about it??

AND what the hell are YOU doing about it, rowanafaire? Asides, of course, whining about how everyone else should do something? I guess we shouldn't expect much from someone who, while having an account set up on this board, still signs in as a guest 1/2 the time (hey, it takes effort to type in a password!).
All ye who find rowanafaire irritating say "Aye!"

what i'm doing about it is suggesting that people can pay for the use of material that is going for free because of the way the internet sets it up - especially someone as easy to find as leigh stephens - or elton john for that matter. sorry it bothers you that i bypass the sign-in sometimes, but i don't see how it matters. it's obvious who i am...

Don`t you think it would be more suited for the ladies amongst us if they were on a MASSAGE board as opposed to a MESSAGE Board? I mean, I`d never think that Rowena the Fair was anything other than a female, and certainly she (and correct me if I`m wrong) doesn`t post with the same aggression that her (and again correct me if I`m wrong) male counterparts do. COOL!!!!! ?? You are in cloud cuckoo land, lady!!

Or how about I fellatiate my own dick and then, after it's all nice and wet, shove it up my own arse the inch that it will go!"

I am the one, Orgasmatron, the outstretched grasping hand My image is of agony, my servants rape the land Obsequious and arrogant, clandestine and vain Two thousand years of misery, of torture in my name Hypocrisy made paramount, paranoia the law My name is called religion, sadistic, sacred whore.
I twist the truth, I rule the world, my crown is called deceit I am the emperor of lies, you grovel at my feet I rob you and I slaughter you, your downfall is my gain And still you play the sycophant and revel in you pain And all my promises are lies, all my love is hate I am the politician, and I decide your fate
I march before a martyred world, an army for the fight I speak of great heroic days, of victory and might I hold a banner drenched in blood, I urge you to be brave I lead you to your destiny, I lead you to your grave Your bones will build my palaces, your eyes will stud my crown For I am Mars, the god of war, and I will cut you down.
