I don't know about all this discussion, but Randy's equiptment looks pretty awesome. The video was made before Paul commited to Dickie and the Blue Cheer tour. It was a way of getting him back to drumming on a regular basis. I don't think he (Paul) played any gigs in Germany in the years he was there. I don't think he teamed with Dieter Saller at any point after Dining with Sharks. Feathered Fish knows more. It's way about time for Randy to issue another musical effort, so we wait patiently. Blue Cheer is due too!

The only way Blue Cheer could get Paul back in and up to shape was through The Guitar God himself, thus STILL making Blue Cheer Randy's band!!

Actually, RiffRaff, Dieter Saller and Paul did team up after `Dining with the Sharks` and Blue Cheer, but not in the way that you would imagine. They went into business together. Something to do with furniture removal/storage/restoration. I don`t know exactly which, but whilst they didn`t make any money out of it, neither did they lose out financially. I think their business may have lasted a couple of years before they decided they weren`t going to get rich out of it, and they subsequently wound it up.

hey FPG, your posts are incessant But your point is made! Blue Cheer is actually Dickie's band, but if it weren't for Leigh's initial effort and Randy's follow up, the band back then would have been indistinguishable from the Bonnie and Delany's and other folk rock bands. (Sidenote: anyone know which album of Bonnie and Delaney's featured Eric Clapton?) As unbelievable as it may seem, folk rock was the music favored by critics and society in general back then. This atmosphere and the suits probably pressured Dickie to change the sound of the band from the 4th album to the 6th album. Enter Andrew "Duck" MacDonald. The working man's Blue Cheer guitarist. Duck working with Savoy Brown and a number of other bands (Feedback Lord, help me out..) teamed up with Dickie many many years ago, and has kept the band alive. After seeing them live, I wonder if the new cd will place Duck where he probably belongs... (Rock Guitarist Hall of Fame) ...with a monumental record. We can only hope ...and wait.. One question, FPG, did you get to see Blue Cheer live at any time?

I don't know what BC charges for tickets, but from what I can tell it's quite reasonable, and you get more bang for your dollar when you go to a BC show " BC is in the bargain basement -price-wise- $12.00 - $20.00 for what is usually a bill with two other bands (which I could do without - but, it gets the younger crowd in and sometimes that actually hang around to get their heads blown off by BC)! Plus BC plays a wall to wall two hour set most nights that will leave you vibrating for the next week or so! ;D Fucking Cream put me to sleep on that DVD - I never would pay that kind of coin to see those guys now! But, there are plenty of fans with money burning holes in their pockets. My brother-in-law paid $750.00 to see the 2005 Rolling Stones tour stop in Philly from the 23rd row. Go figure - maybe they think when they walk out of the venue they'll magically be twenty one again! (one look at Keith Richards should burst that bubble)! Oh yeah - the next fuck who posts claiming that BC is Randy Holden's band - I hope your hard drive ends-up as fried as your brain must be!!

$750 to see the Stones from the 23rd row!? Now that's a waste of money. I'd rather pay $20 to see Blue Cheer, at least they don't look like the living dead, like Keith Richards does ;D Also you could use the $750 to buy BC merchandise, insted of paying that much to see a band beond their prime!

hey FPG, your posts are incessant One question, FPG, did you get to see Blue Cheer live at any time? My posts may be incessant, but I'll bet if it they were about Frank Marino you wouldn't mind, huh? Nope, I refuse to see Blue Cheer without Randy Holden....You know, the guy who truly started, inspired, owns and IS Blue Cheer!

I have seen the Stones a number of times & the most I ever spent for them was $94 which is still a bit high (I remember paying $17 back in 1981 and swore I'd never pay that money again for a band but I digress). The thing is, the Stones still are really good live and do play for a long time. Plus, they were the first band to have outrageous ticket prices. It was kinda part of their image. But for some reason, lots of way-over-the-hill bands feel that just cause they have been around over 20 years, they have as much right to charge what the Stones do even though they aren't anywhere near the same calibre. Now BC live...they sound just like they did in 1968 and have recaptured that vibe perfectly ...only now they have 40 years of practice under their belts and are even better musicians.
Hey Riffraff. What's the most you would pay to see BC with Randy?

The most I would pay to see BC with Randy is $15.
This year is the 40th anniversary of the Doors first album.

Thanks, GB. Ironically, the very first 2 cds I bought were the Doos & Sabbath's first albums. AND YES, these bands did play together once.

Cool Video! I didn't know that Ron Jeremy played guitar. He is really branching out.
