Yes, it is rather distracting, is it not? I think it would be in the best interest of the board and Blue Cheer if this nonsense were stopped, and all future comments regarding Mr. Holden's place in Blue Cheer history shall be removed promptly to maintain the decorum of the board. It's disrespectful not only to the moderators, but also to the band and especially Mr. Holden, not to mention the other, worthwhile contributing members currently enrolled on this forum. Mr. Randy Holden is a fine painter, fisherman, husband, father, friend, guitar player and all-around nice gentleman, and I think the silliness that's been presenting itself on here devalues the man's name and status. To those who insist on pushing the issue, I say this; Show some respect! Thank you very much for your time. Sincerely, R.H. I couldn't agree more. If someone still insists on this Randy Holden thing, let's just dedicate a topic to him ok, then you can talk about him all you want, so the rest of us can ignore this nonsense and talk about the band and their new album and their upcoming tour. ~Gypsy Ball

I mean, the title of this thread IS "Blue Cheer Guitarists", and it just so happens that we're discussing a former Blue Cheer guitarist. Why the hell is that considered inappropriate? This ain't rocket science ya know

I agree that Randy is a good guitarist. I agree that this is a thread dedicated to BC guitarists. I agree that this thing is getting fucking old. I am amazed how the guitarist that was in the band for the shortest amount of time gets all this attention. So as the moderator, I throw it back out at the Randy fanatics/haters and ask you all to get Randy to put a message board back on his site you can all write your dribble there. We promise this time Randy that we won't make comparisons between you and Janis Ian. Please bring your board back so this one can focus on the topic at hand.....BLUE FUCKING CHEER. 'Nuff said for the next 38 lifetimes!

Hey Gyspyball, here's a novel idea; Stop bitching and moaning about the discussions about Randy Holden and start a band related thread! Better yet, I should probably just start a Randy Holden thread...But, I may have to get permission from the Guitar God himself before I do that. It would feature his name after all. Besides, it looks like Randy Holden has already paid us a visit!

I got the best idea of all. I have now officially bought the trademark to the name, "Randy Holden." So, if the guitargodly one even dares to play out or release any new music under that name, I will slap an injunction on his ass so fast he won't have time to say "Blue My Mind." I guess he could go back to using the moniker "Randy Hammon"

Yes, it would be to the benefit of this board were Mr. Randy Holden to have a message forum on his site. However, as Mr. Holden has tried that in the past, with unsuccessful results, it is an unrealistic expectation that there will be another Randy Holden message forum. Ever. A few of the issues Mr. Holden had in the past with his forum was the negative feedback, general kookiness (the likes of which you've witnessed here), and most importantly, criticism of his recorded works. Mr. Holden records as a hobby, so therefore his recorded works are deemed to be above criticism, unless of course you like it. As the artist, Mr. Holden knows exactly how and what his work should sound like, so any dislike of his recorded works comes from expectations his fans have, and when they are not met with some preconceived sound or style, negative, and hurtful, e-mails, posts and other nonsense are sent to him. To Mr. Holden, the recording studio is an audio canvas, weaving and binding sounds and aural colours that reflect who the artist is in a way that painting alone cannot express. In this situation, the guitar is his paint brush, expressing colour, excitement and emotion through sound. It is for this reason that criticism of his recorded work (unless it's positive criticism) is generally frowned upon and discarded. Once again, thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
R.H.

But Hey! different topic ... Randy Holden can add a new title to his long list of accomplishments:
RIP OFF
Here lies Randy Holden, who robbed a cool man of the legal title to his life-long work - fitting tomb stone inscription, hey?
yea, now we got 56 members on the board ... how many are Randy applauding himself ... errrr, Himself, as he loves to use the kingly 'we'

Randy Holden is not only a serious talent but a friend. At 66 , he is preparing to go to Sweden Rock festival, just put out a new CD called " Visions of You " showing his incredible abilities to transcend styles and is now working on another album in his classic split the universe style. Few if many guitarists have been asked to replace the great Jeff Beck. Population 11 was an individual work of genius. Fender 1 V , sons of adam, blue cheer to name just a few of his prolific achievments of a body of unique music releases for the guy who says Randy " never" puts out any albums. Everyones a critique. Shindig magazine just did an interview with him- hes listed number five oin the historic chronologic book " top 100 guitarists of all time" and is as good of a painter as he is a guitar god.
Yes Randy is a bright light to this day . He sheds creativity and genius on an otherwise dull world. Get your facts straight . When he left Blue Cheer , they were gutted . He was blue cheer .
